A few moments ago, NVIDIA rolled out a new version of its GeForce Graphics driver, namely 416.16, which adds support for the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, including the public release of DirectX Raytracing (DXR).

In addition to that, this update also resolves the black square glitches seen in Quake HD Remix, the performance drop encountered in Rainbow 6: Siege (when using temporal antialiasing), and implements several enhancements as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to compatibility, besides a supported GPU model, this release is only targeted at desktop and notebook configurations running under Microsoft's 64-bit architecture of Windows 10 platforms.

Moreover, take into account that there are separate packages targeted at desktop and notebook configurations, so make sure to download the appropriate one for your computer. Do not try installing these files on other OSes, as this can lead to various malfunctions.

Therefore, to apply this new version, save and run the appropriate executable for your system configuration, wait for all files required for the installation to be extracted, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete upgrade.

Last but not least, once finished, it would be a good idea to perform a reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly. If this task isn’t requested automatically, make sure to carry it out manually to avoid any unwanted problems.

That said, download NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Driver 416.16, follow all instructions highlighted above, and check back with us regularly to be aware when a newer version is available for download.
