Fujifilm has announced the availability of two new firmware versions targeted at its X-T100 and X-A5 cameras, namely 1.10 and 1.20, respectively, which improves the AF accuracy when pressing the shutter button halfway in AF-C mode and fixes slight defects.

In addition to that, the update adds “Rich & Fine” (recommended for food and other tabletop photography) and “Monochrome [NIR]” (simulates Monochrome effect as taken by near-infrared cameras) filters, and corrects a warning message on the Info display.

Moreover, the cameras receive “Square Mode” support that allows users to switch to 1:1 format quicker and enhances compatibility with social media networks (frequently, 1:1 format is the standard format).

Regarding the X-T100 unit, it’s 1.10 firmware changes the initial ISO settings to “AUTO” when switching to P, S, A, M, and Adv modes, and corrects the AF frame behavior in the navigation window.

When it comes to installation, first of all, bear in mind that your camera might be rendered unusable in the event of an upgrade failure. Therefore, make sure to use a fully charged battery, and never turn off or use the camera’s buttons while installation is in progress.

If all is OK, save the appropriate file for your model, transfer it onto a formatted memory card, and insert it into the camera (must be turned off). Afterward, power the imaging unit on while pressing the “Disp/Back” button, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen.

That said, download Fujifilm X-T100 Camera Firmware 1.10 or download Fujifilm X-A5 Camera Firmware 1.20, carefully apply it on your device, and constantly check our website in order to be up to speed with the latest releases.
