AsusWrt-Merlin has rolled out a newer version of its custom firmware packages, namely build 386.2.0, which includes support for the new RT-AX68U and GT-AX11000 routers; still, VPN Fusion and ROG-specific features are not supported on the GT-AX11000 units.

In addition to that, the present update installs new GPL (386_42095), Openssl to (1.1.1k), OpenVPN to (2.5.1), iproute2 to (5.11.0), and root certificate bundle (March 9th 2021) versions, and adds jitterentropy-rngd daemon and Cake QoS for HND routers.

Moreover, AsusWrt-Merlin changes qos-start "init" user script to run in blocking mode, fixes issues with Traffic Monitor spikes, userspace conntrack tool, ATM checkbox (on QOS page), Traditional QoS, connected IPSEC clients, and other issues as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to compatible devices, this release is suitable for ASUS’ GT-AC2900 and GT-AX11000 models, RT-AX56U, RT-AX58U, RT-AX68U, RT-AX86U, and RT-AX88U routers, as well as for the RT-AC3100, RT-AC5300, RT-AC68U, RT-AC86U, and RT-AC88U units.

In terms of installation, just save and unzip the appropriate archive for your model, establish a wired connection between the router and your computer, and go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

Now, click on the “Choose File” button near the “New Firmware File” section, select the newly extracted .trx file, hit “Upload,” and wait for your router to do its job. Bear in mind that interrupting this process can result in serious device malfunctions.

That said, download AsusWrt-Merlin Router Firmware 386.2.0 for your specific device, apply it, and constantly check our website to stay informed when newer versions are available for your device.
