The current update adds Microsoft PlayReady 3.0 support

AMD has announced the availability of a new version of its Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition Graphics driver, namely the 19.8.1 (19.30.01.29) package, which adds Microsoft PlayReady 3.0 on Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products, and more.

Specifically speaking, the current release fixes certain Radeon Chill settings bugs, and make sure Radeon RX 5700 GPUs won’t experience a black screen or flickering when applying auto overclocking memory with games or applications running in fullscreen.

In addition to that, version 19.8.1 fixes the slight performance impact that Radeon AntiLag has in some games, and correct the black clips issue recorded with Radeon ReLive Radeon RX 5700 cards (experienced only on Windows 7).

However, AMD’s update might still experience a few problems with Radeon RX 5700 and Radeon VII cards, Radeon Performance Metrics, Radeon Overlay, and Radeon ReLive features, just like described in the Release Notes below.

In terms of compatibility, besides a supported GPU, take into account that your configuration must be running a 64-bit variant of Microsoft’s Windows 7 or 10 operating systems. There are two files available, one for each platform.

Therefore, remove any previous version present on your computer, save and run the appropriate package for your system, wait for all files required to be made available, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete upgrade.

With this in mind, if you consider applying this release, download AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition Graphics Driver 19.8.1, install it and perform a reboot once finished. Also, check back with us to stay “updated one minute ago.”
