Notes:

1. Mouse may behave inconsistently with a switchbox
If you are using a switchbox to allow the same mouse to control multiple computers, the mouse buttons or scroll wheel may behave erratically. Connect the mouse directly to the computer to avoid such problems (turn off the computer first if you are connecting the mouse to a PS/2 port).

2. Previously installed mouse programs must be removed before running Setup
IntelliPoint software may not function properly if a different mouse program is installed. During IntelliPoint installation, Setup detects certain mouse programs and provides the option to disable or remove them. However, it is recommended that you remove any previously installed mouse programs before running IntelliPoint Setup. For information about removing a program, see Windows Help.

3. Logging on with a Guest user account during Setup may result in an installation error
During Setup, you may need to restart the computer one or more times. Logging on as a "Guest" user account during the Setup process may result in an installation error. Setup requires that you are logged on as a user account that is a member of the Administrators group.

4. Installing IntelliPoint 5.0 over a previous version of IntelliPoint software may not retain certain customizations
If you are using a previous version of IntelliPoint software and you install IntelliPoint 5.0, you may lose certain customizations, such as button reassignments. To fix this problem, you may need to update your mouse customizations after installing IntelliPoint 5.0.

5. IntelliPoint 5.0 may have different features than previous versions of IntelliPoint software
If you are using a previous version of IntelliPoint software, certain features may not be available after installing IntelliPoint 5.0. IntelliPoint 5.0 may have different features than previous versions of IntelliPoint software.

6. Reassigned button commands may not work as expected for certain programs or games
If you reassigned a button to a command that is different than its default command, it may not work as expected in certain programs or games. Certain programs or games may not support the IntelliPoint customized button assignments.

7. Using Microsoft mouse products and IntelliPoint software on Windows Terminal Services or Remote Desktop
Only the left and right (or primary and secondary) buttons on Microsoft mouse products are supported for use with Windows NT(r) or Windows 2000 Terminal Services or Windows XP Professional Remote Desktop. Other buttons (available on certain Microsoft mouse products only) or IntelliPoint software features, such as customized button assignments, may not work as expected.

8. After removing IntelliPoint software, the links to start IntelliPoint in the documentation open the Mouse Properties dialog box
During IntelliPoint software removal, there is an option to save the Microsoft mouse documentation to the Windows desktop. This documentation contains links to start IntelliPoint software, which provides enhanced features and additional tabs to the Mouse Properties dialog box. After IntelliPoint software is removed, the documentation links continue to open the Mouse Properties dialog box, without the IntelliPoint enhancements.
