To update WD Sentinel DX4200 using USB Drive:

- Download the Software Update file to a desire location on the PC.
- Obtain a USB Drive (2GB or larger) and insert it into a USB port on the PC.
- Copy the software update file on to the root directory of the USB Drive
- Create a folder within the USB drive and extract the contents of the Software Update zip file into the folder
- Safely eject the USB Drive from the PC and insert it into one of the USB 3.0 port in the rear of the WD Sentinel Storage Server
- From WD StorCentral, select Settings.
- Under Software Updates, select the Update from folder button.
- Navigate to the folder containing the software components and select OK
- A window requesting closure of WD StorCentral will appear. Select OK.
- The LCD will show “WD S/W update Installing…” and the desktop will show a status bar
- A Software Update message will appear with a request to reboot the server
- Click Reboot to continue and the server will reboot
- Upon completion of the reboot, the LCD will display SW Update Complete

Important product update notes:

- Do not interrupt the software update process. Doing so may cause the device to malfunction or render the unit unbootable.
