HINTS AND KNOWN LIMITATIONS
-Video BIOS version can be determined from S3InfoPlus
display, if you are using a production video BIOS.
-S3Turbo support is not available for standard driver
packages. It is enabled only for OEM-customized
packages.
-Rotation can be enabled using S3Rotate, but will not
work with Windows SP1 TabletPC Edition, where
S3Rotate is absent and only the TabletPC rotation
controls are used. TabletPC support is not available
in standard driver packages but is enabled only for OEM-
customized packages.
-Only one TV or HDTV device is supported at a time.
-S3RefreshLock override for full screenrefresh rate has
some limitations:
-If a DirectX or OpenGL application enters full screen
without a mode switch, then a mode switch will not occur
on exit. In this case, the driver may be unable to
restore the previous refresh rate to the desktop.
-If you enable "hide modes this monitor cannot display"
on the Display Properties Monitor page, then DirectX
runtime will force the refresh rate to a safe lower
value for a DirectX application.
-The driver blocks refresh rate changes while an OpenGL
application is running. If you go from running the
OpenGL application in a full screen to running in a
window, the desktop refresh rate can not be changed by
using Display Properties while the application continues
running.
-If a display device is added or removed after boot time,
you must open the Windows XP S3Display utility to
trigger the driver to re-enumerate the connected displays.
In this way, the operating system can be made aware of the
new state of connected displays. The operating system will
then update the Display PropertiesSettingsAdvanced
Monitors page as needed to reflect the device addition/
removal.
