The firmware utilities listed here may cause permanent damage to your DVD/CD-ROM drive if applied to another drive then the Samsung SC148T drive. Before downloading any firmware updates, verify that the model number of your CD-ROM drive matches.
After downloading the files, double click the file SC148TB700.exe in order to create the boot diskette (you will need an empty 3.5-inch diskette). After creating the disk, restart your system with the floppy in the drive. Follow the on-screen instruction in order to perform the firmware update.
