NEC introduces his first dual 8x DVD recording drive, that supports besides 8x write speed for DVD-R and for DVD R media and 4x write or rewrite with DVD-RW and DVD RW media as well the new functionality to write up to 8.5GB on the new double layer DVD R9 media.

ND-2510 comprises the most important 9 optical storage functions in 1 drive � the ideal all in one optical device.This new model offers fast DVD recording together with high speed CD recording and excellent read performance by using NEC�s know how developing and producing highly reliable optical storage devices.

With the ND-2510A not only the user does not need to choose for one DVD format or the other � he has the freedom to choose the DVD R media of his choice without a compromise in performance or storage capacity: 1 hour DVD Video can be record in less than 10 minutes.Whether consumer desires to share cost-efficient home movies, music and/or private data by using write once discs, or like to store any kind of digital data only for a certain period by using rewriteable discs, the NEC ND-2510A is capable to store up to 8.5 GB onto one DVD disc (or 700 Mbyte on a CD disc).

The ND-2510A takes advantage of NEC�s �high resolution writing strategy� and of an improved version of NEC�s �Active Optimized Power Control� (Active OPC, the �high resolution writing strategy�. Besides, NEC supported its own developed buffer underrun error prevention technology technology.
