Linksys has developed and released a new firmware package compatible with its EA6900 v2.0 router model, namely version 2.0.2.181247, which manages to comply with CE RED standards and address certain IOActive Security issues.

In addition to that, the producer has also enlarged the default number of concurrent NAT sessions, resolved the WPS LED blinking issue, fix the Wireless Bridge/Repeater connection problem (when SSID or passphrase contains a comma), and integrate general bug fixes.

When it comes to installation, first save the package on your computer, access your Linksys Cloud account, go to Connectivity > Firmware Update, click “Choose File” button, and browse and select the downloaded .img firmware file.

Afterward, hit the “Start” button, agree with the upgrade (if any additional pop-up boxes appear), and wait patiently for the router to perform the upgrade. Once completed, you will see a “Router Reboot” screen; make sure to click “Ok” to finish the installation.

However, bear in mind that closing the browser, terminating the connection, or interrupting the upgrade in any way can lead to serious malfunctions, and can even render the device unusable.

That said, download Linksys EA6900 v2.0 Router Firmware 2.0.2.181247, carefully apply it on your wireless unit, and check back with us as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available for your device.
