Microsoft has made available the download links for its April 2016 cumulative firmware and driver update packages developed for its Surface Book and Pro 4 devices, which improve Windows Hello stability via new Camera driver set (30.10586.7035.1976).

In addition to that, the updates apply new Surface System Aggregator firmware versions that will fix auto-rotate feature problems spotted in certain situations, as well as resolve screen flickering in Microsoft Edge and other apps through a fresh Surface UEFI update.

Moreover, the tablets receive Intel’s 20.19.15.4409 HD Graphics drivers that improve overall stability, fix screen flickering, and resolve a few hibernation-related issues, as well as the 8.20.0.865 Intel Display Audio version to make sure the 4409 build works properly.

If applied, this April 2016 release installs a new Surface Camera Windows Hello driver (1.0.45.0) to enhance stability, and the producer’s Surface Dock Integration driver (1.0.6.0) and Firmware (1.2.6.0) that improve external monitors and passive video adapter compatibility.

Last but not least, Microsoft has also managed to fix and improve other aspects of each targeted Surface device, as highlighted in the Release Notes for each model.

As far as installation is concerned, you can perform this task either automatically through Microsoft’s Windows Update service or manually by downloading and installing the archive.
