Just now, Sony’s development team has made available a new firmware package compatible with PlayStation 3 systems, namely version 4.76, which only improves overall system stability during use of certain features.

Even though it seems like a small update, applying the new release should be taken into account by all PS3 owners, as it can enhance the console’s performance; and that’s what they all desire.

Therefore, if you intend to apply firmware 4.76, first of all, create a “PS3/UPDATE” path onto a formatted portable storage unit, save the downloadable .PUP file into that directory, and connect it to your PS3 console.

Afterwards, simply go to Settings > System Update > Update via Storage Media, wait for your device to search and recognize the new file, and watch as the new firmware is automatically being applied to your console.

However, bear in mind not to interrupt this process by making use of the PlayStation’s buttons, removing the power cable or the storage unit, powering it off, or in any other way. Doing so might not only lead to malfunctions but can also render the unit unusable.

Last but not least, once the upgrade finishes, make sure to go to Settings → System Settings → System Information and check to see if the new firmware has been successfully applied: a 4.76 system version should be displayed.

That being said, download Sony PlayStation 3 Firmware 4.76, carefully apply it on your gaming system, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
