The release is targeted at Intel’s 2500 Pro, 535, DC S3710, DC S3610, DC S3510, and DC S3500 SSD Series

Just now, Intel has outed a new SSD toolbox version compatible with several of its solid state drives, namely 3.3.1, which includes firmware updates that will implement improvements for its 2500 Pro, 535, DC S3710, DC S3610, DC S3510, and DC S3500 SSD Series.

Specifically speaking, Intel’s 2500 Pro and 535 SSD Series receive fixes for the Drive Self-Test that reported incorrect status after canceling a test, as well as for the I/O abort due to Sanitize Freeze Lock after COMRESET.

In addition to that, their update will fix the Windows disk error that occurred after devsleep on systems with ATA user password. Also, the 2500 Pro devices alone will benefit from devsleep wake optimizations.

When it comes to the rest of the SSDs, namely Intel’s DC S3710, DC S3610, DC S3510, DC S3500 M.2, and DC S3500 HD series, their new firmware will add support for SMART Attribute F3h and will include a NAND Erase option within Secure Erase.

Moreover, these devices will also receive improvements for Maximum Latency on all Sequential/Random Write workloads, as well as a fourth PHY mode setting for long interconnects.

As for the 3.3.1 toolbox itself, the producer’s team has managed to correct the improper Drive Health reporting of NVMe products.

Last but not least, if you intend to make use of Intel’s new SSD toolbox, you should also know that it can be applied on system configurations powered by Microsoft’s Windows XP or later platform, and that includes at least one valid SSD model (check the Release Notes below).

That being said, download Intel SSD Toolbox 3.3.1, apply it on your computer, and upgrade your storage device. Also, check our website constantly in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
