Today, Panasonic has outed a new firmware package developed for its LUMIX GX8 (DMC-GX8) 4K digital camera, namely version 1.1, which only improves the unit’s overall NFC connection strength, but only for the Japanese models.

In terms of installation, you must save and unzip the downloadable archive, transfer the “GX8__V11.bin” file onto a formatted SD card (must be initialized using the camera), and insert it into your imaging unit.

Now, before initiating the upgrade process, make sure your LUMIX unit’s battery is fully charged. If it’s not, it would be a good idea to charge it first in order to avoid any problems.

Afterwards, turn on the DMC-GX8 camera, press its “Play” button, wait for it to recognize the new firmware, and select “Yes” at the “Start Version Up ?” message.

However, bear in mind that while installing you mustn’t turn the device off, use any of its buttons, or remove the SD card, battery, or lens. Doing so will interrupt the upgrade and might also lead to various device malfunctions.

Last but not least, once the upgrade has finished, make sure to remove and format the SD memory card, and check the currently installed firmware in order to make sure that the 1.1 version has been applied properly.

With this in mind, download Panasonic DMC-GX8 Camera Firmware 1.1, carefully update your camera’s firmware to the latest version, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
