NVIDIA has made available the download links for its 4.0.1 and 1.1.1 firmware packages compatible with the SHIELD Tablet (only WiFi and LTE RoW models) and SHIELD Tablet K1 devices, respectively.

In terms of changes, the SHIELD K1’s update improves Wi-Fi connectivity, lowers power consumption for legacy apps, adds back SHIELD controller touch pad functionality, and includes support for Stylus Lasso Capture.

Moreover, the 1.1.1 firmware also fixes App Optimization feature, resolves crashes encountered by Gamepad Mapper, Performance, Power, and Display settings, and removes the bug that prevented Doom 3 from launching.

When it comes to the SHIELD 4.0.1 package, this release changes Camera UI (inspired by Material Design) and adds real-time HD Image Effects, and allows integrating microSD cards with main internal storage.

In addition to that, NVIDIA’s team managed to optimize preloaded apps, enhance WiFi Connectivity, improve Standby power consumption and Bluetooth Low Energy scanning power efficiency, and implement various changes as highlighted on the description page.

As for installation, since this process is very risky, make sure to carefully read the instructions provided for each device, and proceed with the upgrade only if you have familiarized yourself with the steps. Failing to perform this task can cause serious malfunctions or even brick the tablet.

That said, download NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet Firmware 4.0.1 or download NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 Firmware 1.1.1, apply it, and enjoy these new changes. Also, constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
