NVIDIA has made available a new version of its GeForce graphics driver, namely 378.72 hotfix, which fixes hardware encoding in Steam (In-Home Streaming), and removes the bug that forced PhysX to CPU when “Optimize for Compute Performance” setting was OFF.

In terms of compatibility, the four (4) available files are suitable for both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems. Also, they can be used on either desktop and notebook configurations.

Therefore, if you have encountered these issues, save the appropriate file for your computer’s operating system, run it, wait for all files required for the installation to be extracted, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

Once finished, make sure to perform a system reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly. If this task isn’t requested automatically by the wizard, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually so that any possible problems are avoided.

In addition to that, make sure not to try installing this hotfix release on other platforms, as this might lead to various malfunctions, even if they might seem to work at first.
