NVIDIA has made available a new version of its GeForce Graphics driver targeted at the producer’s older GPU models (400/400M Series and prior), namely 341.96, which should implement some security updates for driver components of Tesla architecture class cards.

In terms of compatibility, the release is suitable for both desktop and notebook configurations running under one of Microsoft’s Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems, either 32- or 64-bit variants.

However, bear in mind that notebook systems do not support Windows Vista platforms anymore. Moreover, Windows XP OSes aren’t compatible either, as NVIDIA hasn’t provided an appropriate package for this operating system.

When it comes to the supported components, the downloadable files can be applied on configurations including one of NVIDIA’s GeForce 400(M), 300(M), 200(M), 100(M), 9(M), or 8(M) series GPUs, or one of the ION or ION LE modes (for desktops or notebooks).

As for installation, first of all, make sure your system is supported by this release, save the appropriate package for your configuration on an accessible location, run the file, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete upgrade.

Afterwards, it would be a good idea to perform a reboot to allow all changes to take effect properly. If this task isn’t requested automatically, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually.
