The new update fixes the power lamp improper behavior

Nikon has made available a new firmware package compatible with its COOLPIX S2800 digital compact camera, namely version 1.2, which fixes the improper behavior of the unit’s power lamp but might also include various stability improvements.

In order to be clear, firmware 1.2 resolves the bug that caused the camera to light its power lamp without extending the lens when pressing the power switch. Also, most of the times, the unit won’t start up normally either.

Therefore, if this issue has bothered you until now, save and run the appropriate file for your system configuration (available for both Mac OS and Windows platforms), and wait for the .bin firmware file to be extracted.

Now, before doing anything else, go to the camera’s setup menu, and make sure that its currently installed firmware isn’t either newer or matching the present release.

If all is ok, format a memory card using your COOLPIX unit, transfer the newly-extracted “firmware” folder on it, back up all important files and settings stored on the camera, and turn it off.

Afterwards, connect the SD card, power the S2800 back on, go to the firmware version section, and follow the on-screen instructions for a successful installation. Upon completion, simply remove the SD card and check the currently installed version once more.

That being said, download Nikon COOLPIX S2800 Camera Firmware 1.2, apply it on your imaging unit, and enjoy your newly improved digital compact camera. Also, constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
