Realtek has made available a new version of its HD Audio package, namely 6.0.1.7865, which comes only a few days after the previous Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7859 release and might also include small stability, performance, and sound quality improvements.

In terms of compatibility, this update includes support for both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 platforms, and can be applied to either desktop or notebook configurations.

However, even though other OSes might seem to be compatible, you should know that installing the present update on different platforms isn’t recommended. Doing so might lead to malfunctions that would require you to remove and apply the appropriate driver.

If you consider installing Realtek’s 6.0.1.7865 driver, first of all, save and unzip the downloadable archive to an accessible location on your computer (such as on the desktop) and locate the available setup file from within the newly created folder.

Afterwards, run “setup.exe,” follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete and successful upgrade, and make sure not to forget to give the wizard permission to perform a system reboot. If this task isn’t requested automatically, however, it would be a good idea to carry it out manually.

That said, download Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7865, apply it on your computer, and check our website as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
