The update improves performance for Sniper Elite 4 and Honor

AMD has announced the availability of a new version of its Radeon Crimson Edition graphics driver, namely the 17.2.1 build, which provides up to 4-5% improved performance compared to the previous 17.1.2 release (measured on Radeon RX 480 series products).

In terms of changes, the present update adds DirectX 11 multi-GPU profiles for Honor and Sniper Elite 4 titles, and resolves various crashes spotted with Honor and DayZ in certain situations, as well as memory clocks issues on Radeon R9 380 series products.

Moreover, AMD manages to fix DXVA H.264 video corruptions on Radeon GCN configurations, correct Counter-Strike: Global Offensive default slider values, resolve GRID Autosport hangs, and include other changes as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

However, bear in mind that this release might still include small bugs that can cause corruptions, crashes, or other unpleasant errors while playing Honor, Sniper Elite 4, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, World of Warcraft, or other titles.

When it comes to supported platforms, know that the producer has provided several files compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 operating systems, except for Windows 8.1 32-bit that is not supported (at least for now).

Therefore, make sure your computer is running a supported operating system and graphics card, save and run the downloadable executable, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

That said, download AMD Radeon Crimson Graphics Driver 17.2.1, apply it, perform a reboot upon completion, and check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
