AsusWrt-Merlin has announced the availability of a new firmware package targeted at several ASUS router models, namely version 380.68 beta 1, which resolves CVE-2017-11344, CVE-2017-11345 and CVE-2017-11420 security issues in network map, and more.

Specifically speaking, the current update fixes IPv4 URL filtering, SMB sharing behavior without user authentication, and Web UI self-generated certificate problems, installs a new Curl version (7.54.1), and re-designs DHCP Lease log page to use the new table API.

In addition to that, the developer managed to add missing hash types to ipset_arm, switch WebUI menu generation code to GPL 382, resolve some port forward/UPNP issues, and implement several other changes as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

If you intend to make use of these new enhancements, first know that Eric Sauvageau has provided separate installation files compatible with ASUS’ RT-N66U (B1), RT-N66R, RT-N66W, RT-AC88U, RT-AC87R, RT-AC87U, RT-AC68P, RT-AC68R, RT-AC68W, RT-AC68U, and RT-AC68UF routers.

Moreover, the present version is also available for the RT-AC66W, RT-AC66U, RT-AC66U (B1), RT-AC66R, RT-AC56R, RT-AC56U, RT-AC56S, RT-AC5300, RT-AC3200, RT-AC3100, RT-AC1900P, and RT-AC1900 ASUS wireless units.

Therefore, if supported, save the appropriate package for your device model, unzip it, establish a wired connection between the router and your computer, and go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Upgrade.

Afterward, near the “New Firmware File” section, hit “Choose File” button, navigate and select the .trx file, click “Upload,” and wait patiently as the upgrade is performed.
