The new firmware version fixes a 10G SFP+ port issue

Today NETGEAR has made available a new firmware package developed for its XSM7224 switch model, namely version 11.0.0.12, which fixes an issue where 10G SFP+ port can’t link up after switch reloads with customer's config.

In addition to that, a few other changes that are highlighted in the description page will be implemented after applying the present firmware, thus make sure to check them out.

As for the installation procedure, first of all, make sure the device’s current firmware isn’t either newer or matching this release, and only afterwards save and unzip the downloadable package.

Now, establish a wired connection between your switch and the computer that stores the newly-extracted firmware file (wireless technology tends to disconnect randomly), log into its administration page, and go to the “Firmware Upgrade” section.

Now, simply click the “Browse” button, navigate and select the newly-extracted .stk file, hit “Upload,” and wait patiently for the switch to do its job.

Even though this seems easy, bear in mind that you mustn’t remove the Ethernet/power cable from either devices, power off/reboot the switch or the computer, or interrupt the installation in any way. Doing so could lead to various device malfunctions.

With this in mind, download NETGEAR XSM7224 Switch Firmware 11.0.0.12, apply it on your unit, and check our website constantly to be aware when newer versions are available for your device.
