NETGEAR has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its R6400 wireless router, namely version 1.0.0.26, which adds the ability to make use of the producer’s beta downloader feature.

In addition to that, this release includes support for PR SKU and fixes the ReadyCLOUD bug that caused improper disk space information to be displayed when connecting a portable drive with more than 3 partitions.

Moreover, NETGEAR’s team has also managed to resolve a connection issue encountered with MacBook devices, where the router drops from HT80 to HT40 when allowing Apple’s unit to reconnect to the 5 GHz WiFi network.

As for installation, first make sure your device isn’t currently running the latest firmware (must be at most 1.0.0.24), and if all is OK, save and unzip the downloadable package.

Afterwards, back up all settings changed from the default values, as you might need to re-enter them manually, and connect the router to your computer using an Ethernet cable.

Now, just go to ADVANCED tab > Administration > Firmware Upgrade section from your router’s administration page, hit “Browse,” and use the newly extracted .chk file to initiate the installation.

That being said, download NETGEAR R6400 Firmware 1.0.0.26, carefully apply it on your router, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
