NETGEAR has rolled out a new firmware package developed for its R7500 Nighthawk X4 wireless router, namely version 1.0.0.94, which improves Samba performance for NTFS file system and fixes SOAP security issue.
In addition to that, the new update resolves the Block Site function that wasn’t working properly, as well as the Speedtest function that couldn’t be used when WAN port was in PPPoE mode, and bugs that were introduced along with the previous NETGEAR R7500 Firmware 1.0.0.92 release.
If applied, version 1.0.0.94 will also enhance Web management GUI response speed, and update 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless driver settings in order to improve wireless connection stability and performance with some wireless clients.
When it comes to installation, save and unzip the downloadable archive, make a backup of all settings modified from the default values (it might need you to re-enter them), and establish a wired connection between the computer and the router.
Now, log in to the router’s dashboard, go to Advanced > Administration > Firmware Upgrade, click “Browse,” navigate and select the newly extracted .img file, hit “Upload,” and wait for the router to do its job.
That being said, download NETGEAR R7500 Router Firmware 1.0.0.94, apply it, don’t forget to check with us constantly in order to be the first to know when a newer version is available.
