The new firmware release includes a huge number of changes

Just now, NETGEAR has announced the availability of its first firmware upgrade targeted at D6400 wireless routers, namely version 1.0.0.34, which fixes issues with Wireless Setup page on Chrome, SOAP vulnerabilities, and more.

This new version updates the wireless driver, DSL quick scan table, and DSL PHY build, and adds support for NA SKU, XAgent, DFS channels (for EU and AU), and a “WAN2 bridge to LAN4” option.

In addition to that, build 1.0.0.34 resolves the OpenVPN incorrect info (in non-English), the Bluetooth WAN detection failure, and various API crashes during SOAP testing, fixes ReadySHARE Vault option in USB function, and includes numerous other changes.

When it comes to installation, simply save and unzip the downloadable archive, log into the router’s web UI, and save your device configuration, as you might need to re-enter it manually once the new firmware is applied.

Afterwards, go to Advanced > Administration > Firmware Upgrade > Browse, select the .trx file from within the archive, git “Upload,” and wait patiently for the router to do its part.

Even though this seems quite easy, bear in mind that interrupting the upgrade process by removing the Ethernet/power cable, closing the web browser, turning off either devices, or in any other way might lead to serious malfunctions.

That being said, download NETGEAR D6400 Router Firmware 1.0.0.34, apply it on your device, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.” Also, don’t forget to read the full Release Notes below to be aware of all changes that are to be made.
