Microsoft has made available a new cumulative firmware and driver update package compatible with its Surface 3 tablets, namely version August 8, 2016, which installs Surface UEFI 1.51116.178.0 that improves on-screen keyboard stability and adds commercial UEFI features.

In addition to that, the present update also improves battery charging thanks to the 2.1.65.1 Surface Platform Power driver, as well as the proximity sensor for mobile broadband and Wi-Fi connections through the producer’s 1.0.52500.0 Surface System Aggregator Firmware.

As for separate changes, Windows 8.1 users receive Intel’s 20.19.15.4424 HD Graphics driver that improves system performance in some apps, and the 603.9600.2588.2097 Intel USB 3.0 version that enhances USB enumeration when resuming the device from sleep/hibernation.

When it comes to Windows 10, the device benefits from several camera stability improvements thanks to the new Microsoft Camera Rear/Front, Intel AVStream Camera, and Intel Imaging Signal Processor 2401 drivers (all version 21.10586.6053.549).

Last but not least, Microsoft’s present Surface 3 update will also install the 12.0.303.1 Surface Pen Settings version to increase the pen settings stability and prepare the device for Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

In terms of installation, save and unzip the downloadable archive on your Surface unit, install all drivers included, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful installation.
