Microsoft has announced the availability of a new cumulative firmware and drivers pack targeted at its latest Surface Pro devices, namely the August 12 (2017) update, which adds a new driver version that enables support for Windows 10s operating systems.

Specifically speaking, the producer updates Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework (DPTF) Processor Participant, Power Participant, Generic Participant, and Processor Manager versions to 8.2.11004.3973.

If you intend to upgrade to this release, you should know that this task can be carried out either automatically via Microsoft’s Windows Update service or manually by downloading and installing the package.

Even though the first method is easier, take into account that not all Surface owners will receive this new firmware at the same time as the producer provides every new update in stages. In other words, you might need to wait for this August 12, 2017, release to reach your system.

If you are anxious, however, and want it now, you can also apply it by manually saving and installing the downloadable .msi file. Still under Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system.

Moreover, take into account that this release is only targeted at the Surface Pro system mentioned above. Also, make sure to reboot your device manually (if not requested automatically) to ensure all changes take effect properly.

That said, download Microsoft Surface Pro Firmware August 12, 2017, install it, enjoy the new changes brought by this new release, and check our website as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
