Microsoft has provided the download links for its July 20, 2017, Cumulative Firmware and Driver Update package, which implements changes to meet EU regulatory requirements and improves DX12 and power performance.

In addition to that, the release improves overall system stability, Wi-Fi performance (when waking from sleep), and video performance in some applications, enables Surface Pen simple pairing and features, and adds Power Slider option for a better battery life and adaptive brightness feature.

If you intend to upgrade to this release, you should know that this task can be carried out either automatically via Microsoft’s Windows Update service or manually by downloading and installing the package.

Even though the first method is easier, take into account that not all Surface owners will receive this new firmware at the same time, as the producer provides every new update in stages. In other words, you might need to wait for this release to reach your tablet.

However, if you are anxious and want it now, you can also apply it by manually saving and installing one of the two downloadable packages: the ZIP archive (~634MB) or the MSI file (~242MB).

Still, do not forget that this release is only targeted at Surface Pro 4 tablets that are powered by Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating systems. Also, make sure to reboot your device manually (if not requested automatically) to ensure all changes take effect properly.

That said, download Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Tablet Firmware/Driver July 20, 2017, install it, and check our website as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available for your tablet.
