Microsoft has rolled out a new cumulative firmware and driver update package targeted at its Surface Book and Pro 4 tablets, namely version August 30, 2016, which installs Surface Integration Service Device Version 1.0.146.0 to ensure the Balanced power plan is set correctly when the OS is updated.

In addition to that, the present update applies the 11.0.15.1003 Surface Management Engine, as well as a new Surface UEFI version, to increase stability and performance when shifting power states.

Moreover, tablets will also receive improved usability and battery life, enhanced touch stability when resuming from sleep/hibernations (Intel Precise Touch Device 1.1.0.246), as well as optimized pen pairing.

When it comes to installation, know that this task can be carried out either automatically via Microsoft’s Windows Update service or manually by downloading and installing the package.

If the first method is desired, take into account that not all Surface owners will receive this new firmware at the same time, and you might need to wait for this release to reach your tablet. As for the other method, simply save, extract, and install all files on your device.

However, do not forget that the present firmware is only targeted at the Surface units mentioned above. Also, it would be a good idea to reboot your device manually (if not requested automatically), to ensure all changes take effect properly.

That said, download Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Firmware August 30, 2016, or download Microsoft Surface Book Firmware August 30, 2016, install it, and constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
