The new release might improve overall system stability

Microsoft has rolled out its first firmware and driver cumulative update package targeted at its new Surface Laptop flagship, namely version 17.030.08, which might include small changes and improvements.

Since there is no official changelog regarding this file, the statement mentioned above is only an assumption. To find out what the changes are, you must upgrade your device to the latest firmware.

Before moving any further, know that you can update automatically via Microsoft’s Windows Update service. However, you’ll have to wait for your Surface unit to receive the package,  as updates are provided to all customers in stages (all users receive the update eventually).

If you are anxious and want it now, you can apply it by manually saving and running the downloadable MSI file (~270MB); just follow all instructions displayed on the screen, and the installation should be easy.

Still, do not forget that this release is only targeted at Surface Laptop devices that are powered by Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating systems. Also, make sure to reboot your device manually (if not requested automatically) to ensure all changes take effect properly.

That said, download Microsoft Surface Laptop Firmware/Driver 17.030.08, install it, and check our website as often as possible, as we’ll keep you posted when a newer update is available.
