Microsoft has rolled out a new firmware developed for its Surface Studio and Pro 4 devices, namely the January 2017 version, which includes several changes that will improve the units’ overall performance and stability.

To be clear, regarding Surface Studio systems, the producer reduces time to wake from sleep, improves compatibility with the latest games and speech recognition accuracy, and enhances the reliability of Skype calls, notification alerts, as well as the Ethernet connection stability.

When it comes to the Surface Pro 4 tablets, Microsoft manages to improve the device’s keyboard stability, battery life during sleep, and storage performance, and adds support for upcoming product releases.

In addition to that, the tablet receives Intel’s Precise Touch Device 1.2.0.78 that disables touch when the cover is closed, as well as a new Surface UEFI version (106.1414.768.0) that improves the overall system stability.

Now, if the present update hasn’t been already installed through Microsoft’s Windows Update service, you can manually download and apply it to your device. Therefore, save the appropriate package suitable for the device and apply it on your Surface unit.
