Microsoft has rolled out its new August 2016 cumulative firmware and driver update package targeted at the Surface Pro 3 devices, which will remove the bug that caused improper battery information display.

Specifically speaking, the producer installs a 38.10.90.0 Surface Pro Embedded Controller Firmware that fixes the issue where the operating system and device didn’t recognize the full charge capacity of the battery.

To be more precise, the present update corrects the firmware component functioning as a “fuel gauge” so that the battery capacity is accurately reported. However, this bug may occur on a limited number of Surface Pro 3 devices.

When it comes to upgrading, the task can be performed either automatically through Microsoft’s Windows Update service or manually by downloading and installing the desired update package.

Before deciding, know that, via the Windows Update service, every update is provided to customers in stages, which means that you might not receive it right now. Still, all Surface devices will get this update at some point.

On the other hand, if you don’t have the time to wait for your device to update itself, you can always manually download (extract if necessary) and install all the drivers using the link. Still, don’t forget that this package is only compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 and 10 platforms.

That said, download Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Firmware/Driver August 2016, apply the update, and make sure to reboot your tablet manually to allow all changes take effect properly. Also, don’t forget to constantly check our website to stay “updated one minute ago.”
