Intel has announced the availability of a new version for its SSD Toolbox, namely 3.3.4, which is able to upgrade SSD DC S3700, DC S3500, DC S3710, DC S3610 and DC S3510 Series products to a newer firmware.

Specifically speaking, via this release users can apply firmware G2010150 on Intel’s SSD DC S3500 M.2, DC S3500 HD, DC S3710, DC S3610, and DC S3510 series. Moreover, versions 5DV12270 and D2012370 can also be installed on the DC S3700 and DC S3500 series, respectively.

In terms of changes, these new firmware updates manage to fix power consumption on Staggered Spin-up, correct SMART 05h behavior, and resolve SATA CRC errors seen when running at 3Gbps.

Moreover, the aforementioned versions include a fix for the event where the drive may ASSERT or stop responding to host commands if it receives a command that violates the SATA protocol specification.

When it comes to compatibility, the 3.3.4 SSD Toolbox is suitable for Microsoft’s Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 platforms, as well as the Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, and Web Server 2008 R2 operating systems.
