Intel has made available a new version of its PROSet/Wireless driver and software packages, namely 18.20.0, which includes compatibility with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems.

In terms of supported components, this release can be applied on systems including one of Intel’s Wireless-N 7260 and 7265 devices, Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (for desktop), and Centrino Wireless-N 105, 135, and 2230 single-band models.

As for the dual-band adapters, Intel’s 18.20.0 version is suitable for its Centrino Advanced-N 6200, 6205, 6230, and 6235 models, Centrino Ultimate-N 6300, and Wireless-AC 3160, 3165, 7260, and 7265 devices, as well as for the Wireless-N 7260 and 7265 components.

When it comes to the downloadable packages, the producer has provided 8 drivers-only files compatible with each of the supported OSes and bit architectures.

In addition to that, Intel has also rolled out 2 drivers with PROSet/Wireless software packages (one for each bit variant), as well as 1 archive including both the aforementioned files. However, bear in mind that these files do not include support for Windows 8 platforms.

Therefore, if you intend to upgrade your adapter’s version, make sure to download and unzip the appropriate package that best suits your needs, run the available setup file, and follow all instructions displayed for a complete and successful installation.

Moreover, once this process has finished, it is recommended to reboot your computer in order to allow the changes to take effect properly.
