The release prevents drive detection issue on certain OSes

Intel has made available a new firmware update tool targeted at its 530 and 535 Solid-State Drive (SSD) series, namely version 2.0.14, which should resolve the drive detection issue.

Specifically speaking, this package will enable or disable the DevSleep feature on these SSD models in order to prevent the known drive detection issue spotted on Microsoft’s Windows 8, 8.1, 10, and Server 2012 operating systems.

This problem is encountered because, on certain motherboards, the BIOS and OS are enabling this feature but the board doesn’t signal the SSD to wake back. This leads to SSD disappearing after resuming from sleep.

Therefore, if you want to remove this bug, first of all, make sure to back up any important data just in case, save the downloadable .iso file, and burn it to a blank CD or USB flash drive.

Now simply boot from the removable storage, accept the License Agreement, select the drive tab that has an orange badge with an exclamation point on its left, hit “Update,” and wait for this upgrade to complete.

Bear in mind that, even though this process will recognize all Intel SSDs connected to your computer, it will only provide support for the 530 and 535 model series. Don’t try to upgrade other SSDs in order to avoid any unwanted problems.

That being said, download Intel 530/535 SSD Series Firmware Update Tool 2.0.14, carefully apply the new firmware by following the steps above, and check our website constantly in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
