GoPro has announced the availability of new firmware packages developed for its HERO and HERO3+ action cameras, which resolve an issue that bothered Mac users when importing files after applying Apple’s Mac OS X 10.10.3 supplemental update.

In order to be clear about the new releases, the producer has provided firmware 1.09 compatible with its HERO camera, as well as versions 3.02 and 3.03 targeted at the HERO3+ Silver Edition and HERO3+ Black Edition models, respectively.

Besides the aforementioned bug fix, the HERO3+ Silver Edition device alone also benefits from an improved automated file transfer process when connecting the camera to GoPro’s software on your computer.

Moreover, this model gets fixes for an issue that might have led to a lower impact image quality when shooting in incandescent or fluorescent lighting conditions, as well as other improvements and workarounds.

When it comes to installation, in order to properly apply this release, save and unzip the downloadable archive, copy the newly created “UPDATE” folder onto a formatted SD card, make sure the HERO unit is turned off, and then insert the memory card into your camera.

Afterwards, simply power on the device and it will automatically initiate the upgrade. However, bear in mind that, during the installation, the HERO camera will reboot several times, therefore, make sure not to interrupt the process in any way.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your GoPro unit, apply it on your camera, and enjoy the new changes that this release brings about.
