The new update includes several performance improvements

GoPro has announced the availability of a new firmware package compatible with its famous HERO4 action cameras (both black and silver models), namely version 04.00.00, which implements several performance and usability improvements, as well as bug fixes.

Specifically speaking, the present update gives users the ability to lock the shutter speed for greater control under different conditions, adds additional Bluetooth functionality, and allows owners to add/remove HiLight Tags directly from the Touch Display.

In addition to that, GoPro adds more White Balance settings to allow finer adjustments (for Cool/Warm lighting conditions), as well as additional ISO control settings and options that can lock the ISO setting for videos and set a range for photo capture.

Moving forward, firmware 04.00.00 also improves HDMI video playback, time-lapse stability, and interval accuracy, enhances camera and smartphone reconnections, and fixes the intermittent audio issues with Periscope.

Last but not least, the producer adds the ability to move quickly to the next or previous HiLight Tag in a video, and implements Media filters (allow sorting content in thumbnail view), a slideshow option, as well as the ability to delete multiple files.

When it comes to installation, first save and unzip the downloadable archive, transfer the “UPDATE” folder onto a microSD card, insert it into the camera, and power the unit on. Afterwards, simply wait for the camera to do its job; do not interrupt it in any way.

That said, download GoPro HERO4 Camera Firmware 04.00.00, carefully apply it on your device, and enjoy these new changes. Also, check back with us as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
