GoPro, well known for its action cameras that allow owners to test their limits, has rolled out a new firmware package to further improve its HERO4 Black and Silver models, namely version 3.00.00.

Specifically speaking, this new update adds the ability to create and save short videos directly on the camera, changes default video setting to 1080p60, improves camera and smartphone connectivity, and makes gallery thumbnail larger for a better view.

In addition to that, GoPro has also managed to add Simplified Chinese as a language option, improve power efficiency in Time Lapse photo mode, as well as give users the ability to select new video ISO settings (between 800 and 3200).

However, bear in mind that the Black model requires an LCD Touch BacPac in order to be able to create and save videos or enjoy the larger thumbnail in the camera’s gallery.

When it comes to installation, save and unzip the appropriate downloadable archive for your device, transfer the newly created “UPDATE” folder to a microSD card, and make sure the HERO unit is turned off.

Afterwards, simply insert the memory card into the camera, power it on and the device will automatically initiate the upgrade. Bear in mind that, during the installation, the HERO camera will reboot several times, therefore, make sure you don’t interrupt the process in any way.

That being said, download GoPro HERO4 Camera Firmware 3.00.00 for your specific model, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about.
