Today, Fujifilm rolled out new firmware packages developed for some of its X-series digital cameras, namely versions 1.20, 2.10, and 5.10 targeted at its X-T2, X-Pro2, and X-T1 device models, respectively.

In terms of changes, the current updates add support for Fujifilm’s EF-X500 Shoe Mount Flash, which allows owners to upgrade their flash unit using the cameras mentioned above. However, take into account that the accessory’s firmware must be at least 1.02 or newer for this to work.

As for applying this latest version, simply get the downloadable .DAT file, copy it to the root folder of a formatted memory card and insert it into the camera (make sure that the battery is fully charged, and no lenses are attached to the camera).

Now power on the unit while pressing the “Back” button, select “Ok” at the battery-related dialog, choose “Body” when the “Select Item” menu appears, and agree with all firmware upgrade pop-ups displayed.

While waiting for the camera to install the update, make sure you don’t remove the battery cover or the memory card, power off the unit, or play with its buttons - this might lead to an update failure that could cause damage to your device.

When the firmware has been applied, and the “Firmware Upgrade Completed” is displayed, make sure you turn off the camera, remove the memory card, and check the currently installed firmware version to ensure that the upgrade has been successful.

That said, to install this update, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your Fujifilm camera, get the downloadable file, apply it, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
