The new firmware release improves AutoFocus (AF) accuracy

Today, Fujifilm has announced the availability of its 4.00 firmware version developed for the X-T1 and X-T1 Graphite Silver Edition digital cameras, which adds Zone and Wide/Tracking modes to make it easier to capture moving subjects.

In addition to that, version 4.00 improves the AutoFocus (AF) accuracy by dividing the focus area into smaller sections, and adds the Eye Detection AF feature that allows detecting and focusing the subjects' eyes automatically.

If this firmware is applied, the cameras will also benefit from an improved algorithm that smooths autofocusing during movie recording, as well as from an enhanced Shutter Speed Dial operability.

Moreover, the producer has provided the ability to use Exposure Compensation dial in Manual exposure mode, has made the framing grid finer in order to enhance visibility of the subject, and has renamed Silent Mode to “Sound & Flash Off” to avoid confusion.

Last but not least, along with this firmware, Fujifilm has introduced an Auto Macro function that allows the camera to automatically switch itself into Macro mode while keeping conventional AF speed.

As for installation, save the downloadable .DAT file onto a formatted memory card, connect it to your camera, and power the imaging unit on while holding the “DISP/BACK” button. Afterwards, just follow all instructions displayed for a complete upgrade.

That being said, download Fujifilm X-T1 Camera Firmware 4.00, apply it on your device, and enjoy the changes this new release brings about. Also, constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
