Today, Panasonic has outed a new firmware package developed for its LUMIX DC-GF9, DC-GX800, and DC-GX850 cameras, namely version 1.1, which implements support for the new Beauty Retouch feature.

Specifically speaking, this new addition allows users to apply various aesthetic and makeup effects to faces in your pictures.

In terms of installation, you must save and unzip the downloadable archive, transfer the .bin file onto a formatted SD card (must be initialized using the camera), and insert it into your imaging unit.

Now, make sure your LUMIX unit’s battery is fully charged, turn on the camera, press its “Play” button, wait for it to recognize the new firmware, and select “Yes” at the “Start Version Up ?” message.

However, bear in mind that while installing you mustn’t turn the device off, use any of its buttons, or remove the SD card, battery, or lens. Doing so will interrupt the upgrade and might also lead to various device malfunctions.

Last but not least, once the upgrade has finished, make sure to remove and format the SD memory card, and check the currently installed firmware to make sure that the 1.1 version has been applied properly.
