Today, FiiO has announced the availability of a new firmware package suitable for its X3 2nd Generation portable player, namely version 2.0, which adds new play modes (play a single track and stop), supports ReplayGain, and includes several other changes.

Specifically speaking, via this update, the producer has implemented Line Output level options (fixed or variable level) and DoP and D2P options to S/PDIF output, and it will allow deleting a track outside of Now Playing, as well as manually clearing media library database via System Settings.

In addition to that, firmware 2.0 will optimize UI operation and speed, add compatibility with FiiO K5 and DK1, and fix issues with hidden files stored on a Mac OS computers on the player’s memory card.

Moreover, the 2nd-gen X3 unit will also benefit from additional DAC output reconstruction lowpass filter options, a new library search function, and dynamic EQ settings (enabled by default).

As for upgrading your music player, just extract the downloadable archive, format a memory card (FAT32) using your device, copy the “X3II.fw” file on it, make sure the audio player is fully charged, power it off, and insert the newly prepared SD card.

Now, hold the upper left button of X keygroup, turn on your device, and allow it to do its job. Upon completion, simply select your desired interface language, and you’re done.

That said, download FiiO X3 2nd Generation Portable Player Firmware 2.0, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and carefully upgrade your device to the latest software version.
