FiiO has just made available a new firmware package targeted at its X1 2nd gen portable player, namely version 1.5.6, which manages to remove the bug that caused the player to freeze when playing certain tracks or skipping through albums under the Album category.

In addition to that, the current update resolves the issue where some tracks couldn’t be updated to the media library, and fixes a problem that leads to no sound output when connecting the player to certain Bluetooth speakers.

Last but not least, FiiO will also fix the occasional issue where the player might hang after searching for a Bluetooth device, turning off the screen, and then waking up the X1 unit, and it will add several miscellaneous bug fixes.

As for upgrading your music player, just extract the downloadable archive, format a memory card (FAT32) using your device, copy the “X1II.fw” file on it, make sure the audio player is fully charged, power it off, and insert the newly prepared SD card.

Now, hold the upper left button of X key group, turn on your device, and allow it to do its job. Upon completion, simply select your desired interface language, and you’re done.

That said, download FiiO X1 2nd Generation Portable Player Firmware 1.5.6, take into account all the aspects as mentioned earlier, and carefully upgrade your device to the latest software version.
