Today, FiiO has made available the first firmware package targeted at its new X7 MKII portable player, namely version 1.0.1, which resolves issues with the unit’s Gapless playback function, as well as with DSD files that fail to play when output via Bluetooth.

In addition to that, the producer manages to add DSD256 support and Performance mode selection options ((Balanced or High Performance), and implement a new method for restoring Google services.

Moreover, this new firmware fixes several problems regarding playback mode and Resume function (doesn’t remember the correct song/location), ensure the Now Playing list is displayed correctly, and implements numerous other improvements as highlighted in the Release Notes below.

When it comes to installation, simply save the downloadable archive, make sure the X7 MKII unit is fully charged and switch it from Pure Music to Android mode, transfer the ZIP file onto a memory card, and insert it into the player.

Afterward, go to Technical support > Firmware Update > Local Upgrade > external_sd1, select the zip update package, hit the “Ok” button, and wait patiently; the unit will automatically reboot and enter update mode.

Bear in mind that you mustn't operate the player during this process as this can lead to malfunctions. Once finished, the FiiO device will restart once more in Android mode; switch back to Pure Music manually.

That said, download FiiO X7 MKII Portable Player Firmware 1.0.1, carefully apply it on your unit, and check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
