The firmware optimizes Bluetooth interference noise

Today, FiiO has rolled out a new firmware package developed for its 2nd generation X1 portable player, namely version 1.4.1, which manages to resolve the issue where some tracks wouldn’t play, caused a system crash, or got their bit depth displayed incorrectly.

In addition to that, the X1 II unit will be able to play tracks with no headphone output, properly display all file names, albums, and artists, as well as wake up the screen by holding the OK button (only for Lockscreen 2 and 3).

Moreover, the current firmware fixes shuffle playing problems, resolves the issue with hidden files stored on a Mac OS computer accessing the micro card, optimizes Bluetooth interference noise, and includes several other changes as highlighted on the description page.

As far as installation goes, save and unzip the downloadable archive, copy the X1II.fw onto a microSD card, make sure the player’s battery is fully charged and turn off the device, then hold the upper left and power buttons to initiate the upgrade.

Bear in mind that interrupting the upgrade in any way can lead to various malfunctions or even render the device unusable. With this in mind, follow all instructions displayed, configure the preferred interface language, update the media library, and remove the memory card.

That said, download FiiO X1 2nd Gen Portable Player Firmware 1.4.1, carefully apply it on your device and check back with us as often as possible to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
