EVGA has made available a new BIOS version developed for its latest Z170 motherboards, namely build 1.04, compatible with Z170 Classified, FTW, and Stinger models, which fixes the problem where BCLK couldn’t be modified on first boot after a CMOS reset.

In addition to that, the present update also resolves an M.2 detection issues encountered by FTW and Classified devices, improves BCLK overclocking capabilities, adds lower memory frequency options, and resolves the Kingston HX426C15FBK4 2667 8G boot problem.

When it comes to applying this release, first of all, make sure you load BIOS default settings, and only afterwards save and unzip the appropriate archive for your motherboard model.

Now, close all programs and processes that might interfere with the installation, locate and run “update.bat,” press “Y” to initiate the upgrade, and wait patiently for your board to do its job.

Bear in mind that shutting down/reboot your computer or interrupting the BIOS flashing in any way can lead to serious malfunctions, and might also even render the motherboard unusable.

If the flash box either doesn’t appear or closes immediately when running “update.bat” file, then save the extracted content onto an FAT32-formatted USB drive and execute the included .bin file from a DOS command prompt.

That being said, download EVGA Z170 BIOS 1.04 for your specific device model, apply the new BIOS using the aforementioned steps, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
