The new release improves M.2 storage compatibility

EVGA has announced the availability of a new BIOS package developed for its X99 Micro 2 motherboard model, namely version 1.01, which adds an option that improves M.2 storage compatibility in S3 and S4 sleep states.

However, this features comes with a downside because BClock will be limited to 100MHz and 2800MHz+ memory will not be supported when this enhancement is enabled.

Considering these aspects, if you intend to upgrade the BIOS on your motherboard, get and expand the downloadable archive for your device model, close all programs and processes that might interfere with the flashing, locate and run the “Windows_Update.bat” file, and press “Y” to initiate the upgrade.

If this method isn’t suitable for you or doesn’t work, then copy all the archive content onto a bootable disk, reboot the system, and from the DOS prompt, run the “DOS_Update.bat” file, press “Y” just like above, and wait for the process to finish.

Upon completion, it would be a good idea to restart your computer, load the default BIOS settings, and check the currently installed version to ensure that the upgrade has been successful.

Bear in mind that, interrupting the installation in any way or failing to perform the flashing process might lead to various malfunctions or even render the board unusable.

That being said, download EVGA X99 Micro 2 BIOS 1.01, carefully apply it on your board, and enjoy the changes and improvements that this new release brings about.
