Realtek has just rolled out a new High-Definition Audio driver, namely version 6.0.1.7915, which is compatible with the 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 10 Threshold (TH) anniversary edition.

In terms of changes, since there is no changelog available, I assume that the present update will implement some small improvements regarding stability, performance, as well as sound quality. However, you must apply the new version and find out for yourself what the enhancements are.

Therefore, to upgrade to this release correctly, first of all, make sure your system’s OS is supported, save and unzip the downloadable archive on an accessible location (such as your desktop), and locate and run the available “setup.exe” file.

Afterwards, simply follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete and successful upgrade, and make sure to give the wizard permission to perform a restart so that changes can take effect properly; if not requested automatically, carry out this step manually.

As a recommendation, do not try installing Realtek’s update on other platforms besides the one mentioned above even if it seems to work at first. Doing so might lead to malfunctions that would require you to remove the 7915 build and re-apply the previous driver.

With this in mind, download Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7915, install it and check out our website as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available for your device.
