The update is suitable for Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 platforms

Intel has made available a new version of its Realtek ALC Audio driver suitable for several of its NUC boards and kits, namely version 6.0.1.7818, which is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 operating systems.

To be clear about the supported devices, the present update can be applied on Intel’s D34010WY, D54250WY, NUC5i5MY, NUC5i3MY, and DE3815TY boards and kits, as well as on its NUC5i5RY, NUC5i3RY, NUC6i3SY, and NUC6i5SY NUC kits.

In addition to that, the producer’s NUC5CPYH, NUC5i7RYH, NUC5PPYH, NUC5PGYH, and NUC6i7KYK models, as well as the DN2820FYKH Intel NUC kit, are also compatible with the 7818 Realtek ALC Audio build.

Now, to upgrade to this version, simply save and unzip the downloadable archive, locate run the available setup file from within the newly created folder, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful installation.

Moreover, once the upgrade has finished, it would be a great idea to reboot the system so that all changes can take effect properly. If this task isn’t automatically requested by the wizard, make sure to carry it out manually.
