NVIDIA has now made available the download links for its 5.2.0 firmware update (both Recovery OS and Developer-Only OS images) developed for the SHIELD TV 2017, SHIELD Android TV, and SHIELD Android TV Pro gaming consoles.

In terms of changes, the present update allows owners to watch and record Live TV using a Plex Pass, TV tuner, and antenna hardware, stream more movies and TV Shows in 4K, and play new games, such as Real Myst, CLUSTERTRUCK, The Final Station, Paragon, Marvel Heroes 2016, and more.

Moreover, the SHIELD units now support USB tuners for Plex Live TV and can record the content directly to a network attached storage (NAS), and receive Wi-Fi performance and stability improvements, as well as the latest monthly Android security updates.

Last but not least, NVIDIA also upgrades firmware for SHIELD Remote (1.11), SHIELD Remote with a headphone jack (1.10), and SHIELD Controller (1.04), improves battery life on SHIELD Remote with a headphone jack, and adds several other changes (check Release Notes below).

When it comes to installation, just save the appropriate package specifically designed for your SHIELD model and OS configuration, and make sure to read the update instructions before initiating the upgrade so that no problems are encountered.

That said, download NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV Firmware 5.2.0 or download NVIDIA SHIELD TV 2017 Firmware 5.2.0, carefully apply it, and check our website as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available for your device.
